About City Lake Park

Located right in the heart of Mesquite, Texas, City Lake Park offers countless recreational opportunities. Whether you want to enjoy a great game of tennis, feed the ducks, or relax while grilling outdoors under the pavilion, there are plenty of ways to stay active at this beautiful park.

The lake is one of the primary focal points of the park. The peaceful water attracts a wide range of ducks, geese, and other waterfowl, providing an opportunity to observe these birds in a natural setting. Children, in particular, really enjoy spending time around the ducks since it gives them a chance to interact with animals that they may not see on a regular basis.

The lake is also stocked with catfish, which means that fishermen can have a great time at the park, as well. Nothing is more fun than spending an afternoon fishing. Even if you don’t catch anything, it is great to get outdoors and spend some time in the sun.

A trail winds its way around the outer perimeter of the lake. Whether you go for a leisurely stroll on the trail just to take in your surroundings or walk or jog for exercise, being able to stretch your legs in a beautiful setting like this is great – especially since you don’t need to leave the city to do it.

If you prefer something a little bit more active, there are also tennis courts, baseball fields, and other sporting opportunities available at the park.

City Lake Park also has a pavilion that can be reserved for family get-togethers or other events. To make a reservation, call the Mesquite Parks and Recreation Office at (972)216-6260. They will be happy to help you reserve the pavilion for an upcoming event. Alternatively, you can also make a reservation through the city’s website with just a few simple clicks of your mouse.
